Range. China, Cambodia, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vi­etnam; native of Central America, introduced and naturalized elsewhere. Cultivated in Myanmar.

Uses
Fruit: Used in tuberculosis and for inflammation.

Native of Mexico; found throughout India.

Action:

Leaf—used in epilepsy, also applied to tuberculous glands of the neck.

Fruit—anti-in?ammatory. Ash of the fruit, mixed with coconut oil, is applied on burns.

Seed oil— applied on abscesses and for treating itching and skin a?ections.
